Meet Roger Scott

Roger Scott CFP®, MPA Roger Scott, principal and owner of Scott Value Investing, has thirty years of investing experience. Roger holds Bachelor's and Master’s degrees from the University of Washington and has been a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certificant since 1985.

Prior to founding Scott Value Investing, Roger Scott served as the investment manager of Life Planning, Inc. and later specialized in socially responsible investing. For eleven years, he owned and managed The Tax Center in Kirkland until a national tax preparation firm sought out and acquired the business. This led to the founding of Scott Value Investing, which enabled Mr. Scott to pursue his passion for creative and low-risk investing that helps people attain their life goals.

Roger Scott developed a method of selecting investments of individual companies using a style that identifies companies with enduring high profit margins. His unique method quantifies the intrinsic worth of a company utilizing a variety of independent factors that he derives from his extensive research, experience and business acumen. Currently, he manages investment portfolios on a fee basis for more then 30 clients. He is an associate member of the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Society of Seattle and has been a member of the Un Bear or Bull Investment Club for ten years, serving as the organization’s vice president for three years and is currently the treasurer.

Roger lives in Seattle with his son Emory and his wife Beth. He regularly volunteers with local organizations including the Seattle Parks Department and Better Investing. He enjoys hiking, cycling, Tai Chi and is a member of the Cascade Bicycle Club.
